Kinderdijk Windmill Park – Cycling heaven !!!

Kinderdijk is a tiny village 15 km east of Rotterdam with the largest concentration of old windmills in the world. It is a world famous attraction .  The 18th century windmills of Kinderdijk are one of the major tourist sites in the Netherlands and are on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.  The windmills in Kinderdijk are located at a public road and can be visited for free…  We rented bikes as we both enjoy cycling these days 🙂 The bikes were   rented for 2.5 euros / hour and you can cycle the entire stretch the dutch way 😉  There are 19 historic windmills , which are located along the dikes and roads which are also used by the local villagers. The windmill park is open 24/7. I have heard that the windmills are beautifully illuminated during the night time…But we made a trip during day time because we had to get back home by evening !  If you are staying near Rotterdam , then i suggest you make a trip at night to treat your eyes !! Also, dont forget to pick up some cute souvenirs from the shop situated just outside the park…
