Yesterday morning i was at work when my colleague Mrs O came up to me to have a random conversation! I love talking to Mrs O cause she is a very lively person and is an expat herself ( an american married to a dutch man). Every time i plan my vacations , i discuss with her cause she has so much to tell about each and every place. What amused me was that even though she is not from Netherlands, she still knows the place in and out and definitely knows how to promote the tourism the place has to offer. She tells me about the touristy places and also the offbeat ones …How awesome right? I love to chit chat with her during my free time and plan my trips 😉 We talk about a lot of things in fact…travel , food, churches etc! People in Netherlands are not great believers and so i was glad i found this friend with whom i could talk about all things religious 🙂 So we were talking about Faith and thats when she enlightened me about a traditional and popular practice people often resort to sell their home. This practice has been followed extensively in the Western countries for years together and believers (if any) in the Netherlands also swear by this practice! Apparently if you are struggling to sell a home ,there is someone who can be of help! I am talking about St Joseph! Okay now for those non Christians who have no background about biblical characters, St Joseph was the Earthly father of Jesus Christ . He was a simple family man with great values . He was entrusted the responsibility by the Heavenly Father to raise Jesus Christ. St.Joseph undertook a lot of pain and sacrifices for his family. He moved to Egypt to protect Jesus from the bad King Herod and made a new home wherever they went. This is perhaps the reason people pray to St. Joseph to help them find a new home or when it comes to selling their existing one. If you want to know what needs to be done, .Read on….
The seller should buy a statue of Saint Joseph and wrap the statue well in a protective cloth covering all sides and bury the statue upside down in the yard. Those who live in apartments can bury the statue in a pot. Say the prayer printed on the prayer card during burial. Dig up the statue once the house is sold. Thank St Joseph and keep the statue in a place of honor in the new home! So simple right? I heard this and i was kind of shocked! To my surprise, Mrs O said that it worked for her too! I was like huh ? Really ? At the beginning of this post, i did say i am a believer but i dont believe in such things. How can burying a statue help one sell his home? Well we can always pray to St joseph but why bury the statue? According to me burying the statue is so disrespectful ! The Bible clearly forbids witchcraft and black magic. Deuteronomy 18:10 says, “Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft.” Have you ever tried this or do you know of similar things ? Do comment and let me know 🙂 By the way, even if you believe in it, its okay . I am not going to judge you 🙂
Catch you soon guys!
